I discovered Best 8 on-line; read about the camp,
signed-up, and flew out to Colorado without knowing
anyone at all. What an amazing group of folks I met.
Everyone was incredibly nice and welcoming. If you
want an adventure, this is the place to be. The view
from Horn Peak is remarkable, looking down over the
town of Westcliffe. Standing at the top makes you
realize how small we really are in this world and how
awesome it is that a ginormous God desires a personal
relationship with each of us. White water rafting, visiting
the castle, trying to catch flying pancakes, worship
around a campfire, talent show, egg toss, shooting
hoops at night, volleyball, hiking, art projects, etc….
Good Times. Bottom line; you have to go for yourself
to see. Start moving the wheels and maybe God will
steer you to a beautiful mountain retreat in which you
can grow closer to him and learn more about yourself
as well.

Being away from the hustle and bustle of the world helps
you focus on what is really important in life, God and friends.

One good memory for me at Best8 was the whole day
of Sunday. From the incredible sunday morning worship
service we had, to the awesome and moving campfire
we had that night, and all the things people were ready
to give up. No matter how people act on the outside,
and how much fun they seem to have, everyone has
something they're dealing with, and that night helps me
to realize that I am not alone.

I think that my favorite part of the week this year was
campfire. It is so amazing to see how God uses broken
people to share love and bring healing to other broken
people. Seeing the kids pray for each other busted wide
open the jaded walls that have been built up recently
by my own "independence." Best 8 days offers community
to people, and we all desperately need community.

i could say a LOT about B8D - i've been going for the
last 18 years of my life. i could talk up the mountain
assault, the white-water rafting, the life-changing
messages, the amazing friends you'll make or a million
other things. but what really makes B8D work is that it
gets you away from the noise. you're surrounded by quiet...

God for a change. you're surrounded by awe-inspiring

'Best8Days' brought me into a world that was of majestic

just a fraction of His Creation put me in a state of awe!

with other Christians my age and whom enjoy His works

I would just like to say that "Best8Days" changed my
life dramatically. I made friendships like I never had before,
I got so much love and my whole walk with God took such
an amazing u-turn, it's so unexplainable. I got baptized
2 weeks after returning and everytime I get down, I just look
at the pictures and just remember that whole week with God.
It's something I wish everyone would just go to once.
It will change your life in ways you would never imagine.

Well, they say Best8Days is suppose to be the Best8Days of your life, and I would definitely say that they
were some of the best days of my life. First of all I want
to say if you are checking out the website trying to decide
if you should go or not (because that is what I did) you
should definitely go. The first thing I thought was, "Wow,
that's expensive." But it is honestly worth every cent.
You get to go to Colorado (beautiful), grow closer to God,
have an amazingly fun time, and meet the most awesome
people ever!! Oh yeah, the food is amazing!!!

Well....what can I say...Karen dragged me there! I didn't
want to go at all. 'Cuz if ya know me I don't really get along
with the woods. But I went anyway (so she would leave
me alone) and it was truly the Best8Days of my life. I have
met so many awesome people, and most of all, God revealed
to me what to do with my life! It was the best time I have ever
had. I can't wait for all of the new memories for years to come.

is a big obstacle that the group has to overcome, yet God
helps us and we together prevail. I have see so much good

to be dedicated to Christ, people deciding to grow in their

best time of my year. I provides the best mix of fun and

This week I really had time to sit down and spend
personal time with God. I had to figure a few things
out for myself that I have to go home and change.
It was an awesome experience. The friends I met
here were great. They really helped me out and
because of them I had an awesome week. I'm glad
I got to know them. Aside from my personal time with
God, I had fun white water rafting, climbing the wall,
4-wheeling, and horseback riding. The hot tub and pool
were also great.

The Best8Days has showed me many different ways
(or how to) walk with Jesus step-by-step. I have come
close to God through the Son. This week has taught
me how to overcome temptations, how to ask for wisdom,
how to be a true Christian, perseverance. I really have
strengthened my faith and through perseverance I will
carry the CROSS to the end which - which I don't know
when, but He knows. I have become a disciple of Jesus
and my 9th day is the beginning of my journey. The road
is rough, but He, The Lord, will make it smooth for me.

This was truly the Best8Days of my life. I was worried
because I knew no one, but after a day I was comfortable,
and after two I was in love with all of my new life-long friends.
God's beauty abounds in Colorado, and His Spirit moves in
Horn Creek. Deciding to go was the best decision I've ever made.

This week has meant the most to me, it was an awesome
chance to start my summer with. It is an awesome chance to
grow closer to Christ in the mountain range that is named the
"blood of Christ" (Sangre de Christo). I will always this week at
the end of every school year, and encourage anyone to come
on this trip. God can work amazing wonders when you retreat
to the mountains and can show you amazing things as well.

Where do I start and how do I keep this short?! Words cannot
adequately express what I feel and what I have experienced
over the years. Best8Days was always a mountain top
experience for me, a touchstone during my college years
and early adulthood. God's presence was so real for me
there--and He constantly challenged my selfishness, used
my weaknesses, and wooed me back to Him when I had
strayed from Him. Even my year as a group leader, He
continued to challenge me, breaking down my false ideas
about Him and about the Christian life. He provided me with
an excellent mentor that year, and He pushed me to let go
of a grudge I had harbored for years. So, it's not just the
campers who are challenged and who grow. All who are
open to God's working are given a wonderful opportunity to
grow--to grow up in God and to grow together as the Church,
Christ's bride.

one week of the year. Every year I am challenged to go

I grew up in church...after high school, I figured that an event
for the college age people was just the next step...I guess I
really never thought about what those 'steps' were leading me to.
I went into Best 8 without too much thought, and I guess I'm
never going to realize the full impact it had on me. It is one of
those experiences that sticks with you. The things God shows
you up on that mountain are a source of hope throughout the
rest of the year...you really adopt the people there as another family...
it is such a blessing.
